Wenzhou Medical University Ophthalmology Hospital was established in 1998. In 2009, it was approved by the Provincial Department of Health to add "Zhejiang Eye Hospital", with wenzhou General Hospital, Hangzhou Hospital, Zhijiang Hospital and other three hospitals. It is currently the only grade THREE class A ophthalmology hospital in Zhejiang Province. After nearly 20 years of development, the hospital has formed an ophthalmology system integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, industry, public welfare and promotion. Medical treatment is a national key clinical specialty construction unit. In 2018, the hospital received 852,000 outpatients and nearly 60,000 surgeries. The hospital has a complete range of specialties, including 19 clinical subspecialties and 6 clinical diagnosis and treatment centers, among which optometry, eye and nose related specialties, refractive surgery and keratopathy have great influence both at home and abroad.
